PERLES

Bringing together dancers, musicians and singers on stage, this PPS Danse project once again reflects a desire to weave links between disciplines and to integrate several choreographic signatures. A fine work of crossover and overlap, these multiple perspectives converge towards a narrative that tells the story of our world, evoking the themes of love, identity and territory in different eras. Pieces such as Le tour de l'île by Félix Leclerc, La scène by Claude Léveillée and Señorita by Richard Desjardins rub shoulders with Câlisse-moi là by Lisa LeBlanc, Ton vieux nom by Elisapie, Fleuve No 1 by Flore Laurentienne and Tmrw. by Milk & Bone. In this way, a diversity of melodic and choreographic writing becomes one with words and music, opening up a fruitful field of possibilities.

Perles takes us on a non-linear journey through time, through the words and music that shape our society. This journey invites dance and music to meet in different places, to echo a few pearls from the song repertoire, from the 1960s to the present day.

This production benefited from a creative residency at Salle Pauline-Julien in Sainte-Geneviève.
