Certified by LADMMI (2005), Jessica Serli is active in the Montreal contemporary dance scene as a performer, choreographer and rehearsal director. She has worked on numerous choreographic projects directed by Line Nault, Créations Estelle Clareton, Milan Gervais/Human Playground, Bouge de là, Danse Carpe Diem, Audrey Bergeron, Amélie Rajotte, Normand Marcy and Andrew Turner. In parallel with her career as a performer, she acts as advisor and rehearsal director for Maï(g)wenn et les Orteils, Les Archipels, Bourask, Élian Mata, Esther Rousseau-Morin & Sylvain Lafortune, Danse Carpe diem, Annie Gagnon and Alan Lake Factori(e) . As a choreographer, her credits include -40 Degrés (2005), Entre-Deux(2008), La Fièvre (2013), Petite Faille(2015), Faille: deux corps sur le comptoir (Tangente 2016, Offta 2017, Réseau Accès Culture 2018), Cesca (Osez solo 2021-2020/Danse K par K) and La Scala (EDCM 2021).
Her choreographic work explores the relationship between nervous and visceral sensations and the configuration of body and movement. She attempts to delve into the inhabited body, to show it when it is overcome by a force that animates and shakes it. The themes that make up her creations and practice: identity, restrained expression, transformation, hyperactivity. Since February 2020, Jessica has been a guest artist at Les Muses: Centre des arts de la scène, where she teaches the course Processus chorégraphique.
