ANNEDDA
As part of the vast Lac Osisko project, held in Rouyn Noranda, the Collectif Territoire and PPS Danse were looking for a way to work together to promote possible encounters between the scientific, academic, industrial, community and cultural milieus. It was through the Annedda project, spearheaded by artist Élise Bergeron, a close collaborator of PPS Danse, that this union took place.

Annedda, which means Tree of Life in Iroquois or White Pine (Pinus strobus), is a site-specific choreographic, sound and visual installation rooted in the sensitive study of indigenous North American plants. Like a danced herbarium, the disciplines of sound and dance intermingle in an improvised performance lasting 4 hours, while visual installations, sculptures and video images are created and embedded in the space. By artistically revegetating gathering places, the work brings beauty and life to places where nature reclaims its rights to better live together. Isn't knowing your environment better a way of adapting to it?
