Alexis Dumais
Pianist, double bass player and composer, Alexis Dumais, was born in Rimouski. Member of the group Sagapool as a pianist and double bass player and co-composer, he has also accompanied on stage and/or on record Martin Léon, Loco Locass, Bernard Adamus, Louis-Jean Cormier, Fred Pellerin, Vincent Vallières, Matiu, Catherine Major, Pierre Lapointe, Betty Bonifassi, Marie-Pierre Arthur, among others, Olivier Belisle, Alexandre Désilets, Mara Tremblay, Dominic Desjardins, Émile Bilodeau, Galaxie, Samito, La Fanfare PourPour, in addition to collaborating with Martin Léon on several film scores (Monsieur Lazhar, Merci Pour Tout, Guibord s’en va t-en guerre, The Good Lie, Tu te souviendras de moi, etc. He has also participated in various contemporary dance shows (Ballets Jazz de Montréal and PPS Danse), been part of house bands for several television and radio shows, and composed music for various documentaries and short films. Since 2021, he teaches at Collège Lionel-Groulx.
