Marlène Bastien
Marilène Bastien works as a set and costume designer. She has collaborated with several renowned choreographers including Louise Bédard, Virginie Brunelle, Sylvain Émard, Catherine Gaudet, Hélène Langevin, Alan Lake, Ginette Laurin, Ismaël Mouaraki, Anne Plamondon, Jacques Poulin-Denis and Manuel Roque. Her circus projects include three Cirque du Soleil productions (Bôcca, directed by Pierre Lapointe, Le monde est fou and Tout écartillé, directed by Jean-Guy Legault) as well as the recent Cirque Éloize creation (Serge Fiori Seul Ensemble, directed by Benoit Landry). In the theater, she participated in creations with directors Nini Bélanger (Splendide jeunesse and Petite sorcière by Pascal Brullemans), Michel-Maxime Legault (Les inventions à deux voix by Sébastien Harrisson and Ce que nous avons fait by Pascal Brullemans) and Catherine Vidal (Je disparais by Arne Lygre). For the opera, she designed the set and costumes for Aliénor (music by Alain Voirpy, libretto by Kristian Frédric and Alain Voirpy, m.e.s. Kristian Frédric, Opéra de Limoges, France June 2021) as well as the costumes for the opera Fando et Lis (music by Benoît Menut after the work of Fernando Arrabal, libretto and m.e.s. Kristian Frédric, Opéra de St-Etienne, France)
In 2015 Marilène was named protégé of Anick La Bissonnière, winner of the prestigious Siminovitch Prize.
