PHILIPPE DÉPELTEAU

Based in Montréal / Tio'tia:ke (Québec, Canada), Philippe Dépelteau works as a dancer, performer and collaborator in the performing arts. Inhabited by a skillful, pure gesture, he communicates a dance that is both sensitive and reflective. His curiosity about the human being led him to the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal (2017-2020). There, he will have the privilege of meeting Linda Rabin, Jamie Wright, Laura Toma, Isabelle Poirier, Peter Jasko and Andrew Harwood, as well as collaborating with choreographers Clara Furey, Sophie Corriveau and Frédérick Gravel. Committed to the relationships he forges, he begins several artistic collaborations as soon as he leaves the École. Since 2019, he has been developing an eco-social performative approach with Lauranne Heulot, through the Ni d'Ève, ni d'Adam project. In parallel with his research, he works at PPS Danse as a performer-doubler for the piece Le Trésor. He is also training in aikido and poetry. With his benevolent view of the world's complexity, he wants the body to evoke new dreams for society.
