End of Season and Summer breeze
A 29th Season ends for PPS Danse, leaving us again with memories of very happy moments where, through dance, we spark the happiness of doing what we love: create, meet and go towards the other, share and transmit.
Corps Amour Anarchie in Europe and Québec
This season has given us the opportunity to travel to France with our show dedicated to the repertoire of Leo Ferré where it received a warm welcome. We are delighted and expect to renew the experience very soon. The show was presented in several cities across Quebec Province in the fall, from Quebec City to Gaspé, finishing its race in the Saguenay region at the end of May. The show has received a very positive welcome and is expressed in the moving testimonials we collect at the end of each performance. Leo Ferré captivates the audiences in this moving encounter with dance.
A wonderful adventure was shared with the ten performers on stage, with our co-producer, Coup de cœur francophone, and with Ferré’s audience who say Yes! to this encounter between words, voices and bodies. Thanks to all the dancers, singers, the technical team and the presenters!
A 100th performance of L’École buissonnière (Playing Hooky)
We are very proud of Playing Hooky’s important tour which brought the performers and the production team to a dozen Quebec cities to meet an audience conquered by this unique world inspired by the work of Jacques Prévert.
We cannot ignore the 100th performance that took place in Quebec City, at Les Gros Becs Theater, on October 28th of last year. After this performance, the children were invited to go see the elements on stage up close and to talk with the performers. 100 times already?
The production was showcased during the IPAY event held in Philadelphia last January, foreshadowing new markets for the rest of the Prévert adventure.
Thanks to the dancers, the technical team, the venue staff on tour, the school boards that facilitate this cultural incursion, and to the young audiences.
EMERGENCE OF TWO NEW CREATIONS
The production was showcased during the IPAY event held in Philadelphia last January, foreshadowing new markets for the rest of the Prévert adventure.
Thanks to the dancers, the technical team, the venue staff on tour, the school boards that facilitate this cultural incursion, and to the young audiences.
Le Trésor, a creation for young audiences, is on track to take its shape and its magic! The team gathered around this production is busy making it an enchanted experience … The show is scheduled for next March.
Our thanks for receiving us in residencies and/or for research spaces at Louise Lapierre Danse, maison de la culture Claude-Léveillée and Place des Arts.
We are conceiving a program highlighting PPS Danse’s 30th anniversary. Stay tuned!
We wish you a marvellous summer!
