In Les Flaques, dance, theatre and music merge. On the stage, dancers, actors and musicians explore the encounter with oneself, with the other. This interdisciplinary dialogue brings out the power and singularity of each form. The text is by Marc-Antoine Cyr, directed by Jasmine Dubé with the complicity of Pierre-Paul Savoie, who also wrote the choreography. Music by Maryse Poulin.
Putting the wind in a bottle. Protect yourself from tears with umbrellas. Take a trip on paper boats. Telling your story as if you were jumping in puddles, splashing yourself with words! What if the sorrow was just passing rain?
The characters go through thunderstorms, carrying sorrows and secrets that suffocate them. The wind is blowing and the rain is falling on Anatole and Léontine in this epic, punctuated by the dancers who embody the wind and the rain. This journey through the soundscapes allows them to tame the pain that inhabits them. Then come the liberating gestures that bring peace and the desire to go on the road, to continue life.
Les Flaques reaches the human. Whether we are adults or children, we find ourselves in these existential, essential questions. A universal subject, carried by a poetic writing.
